DEAD TOM REDLEGS was once was the Piper to the Chief of Clan MacLeod of Dunvegan in Scotland. Rebellion was in the air against the English and Clan MacLeod took pleasure in joining the Rebellion. Although successful at first, the Rebellion was quelled and rather than being captured and sent into slavery, Tom escaped to Iceland. There he met up with hearty fisherman who agreed to take him across to the Maritimes. Tom found himself running again from the Kings soldiers. He continued down the coast of Maine, fighting alongside other freedom seekers and entertaining shipmates with the music of the sea. They now call him Dead Tom as he has been regularly captured and sentenced to death as a rebel in every port from Calais to Kittery…..but escaped every time. He continues to defy the Redcoats wherever he comes ashore. You will often find him with Black Bess at the Bleedin’Pig Tavern.
