REDBEARD. Hastily departing at 16 from his native Scotland one step ahead of the law, Redbeard sought fame and fortune on the high seas. But pirates found him instead and gave him the choice of joining or shark bait. He wisely chose to turn pirate and cut a bloody swath through the Caribbean and African waters for twenty years. Redbeard gained his name from not only from the hue of his beard, but from the splashed blood of any who dared raise a blade and face him upon the deck of an unfortunate ship that became his quarry. After taking a brief respite on Tortuga, Redbeard met up with Bloodthirsty and Captain Crudbeard, and soon signed on, looking for more booty and adventure.
