MAD MARIE. After suffering a case of the dengue fever in Madagascar that went to her head, poor Marie imagined another wench named Matty as her companion. As the townsfolk couldn’t see Matty, Marie was reduced to begging on the docks until a tall red bearded sailor gave her a trinket out of pity. Since then, Marie and Matty have followed Redbeard around watching and protecting him from doxys looking to lift his purse. When Redbeard threw in with Crudbeard and Bloodthirsty, Mad Marie and Matty kept sneaking aboard until the Captain turned a blind eye to their constant presence. Now Mad Marie and Matty are pirates as well, although they have to share a single cut of the booty between them.
