Bloodthirsty Barbara is a master falconer and can present hawks and owls like Madam Berné, the Barred Owl (at right, top), in some circumstances — call for details. Orrey-oh the African raven (at right, bottom) talks and steals doubloons. A true pirate, his heart is as black as his feathers.
